I left my home in New Brunswick at sixteen in 1971 and hitchhiked to Toronto and back. I left again in 1972 and did the same. In 1978 I hitchhiked from Montreal to Vancouver, then in 1981 from Vancouver to Toronto.
Years later, in 1987 I hitchhiked from Amsterdam to Florence Italy, but in Europe hitchhiking is called “autostop” and one usually asks for rides from cars at toll stations. It is much easier to get rides in Europe than some parts of Canada. I hope you don’t get stuck in WaWa, Hitchbot, like so many have before.
